Morris: As an early stage investor, you can really only rate yourself maybe after six or seven years. I think primarily my problem was that coming from Goldman, where I'd worked for five years, you arrive as a banker with a terrible bias for action. It's funny because I've been reflecting on that and oftentimes deal activity is touted as a measure of success for VC firms. Ultimately, your LPs will judge you based on your returns.
