Setting the Tone for How You Want Your Community to Be

At the very beginning, you really do have to set the tone for how you want your community to behave. At the top of every single space in circle, we have a description of what a given space is to be used for. And having past students there to set an example can really encourage others to share. If it's quiet, it takes a lot to be that first person to share. But when you have returning students who are pretty comfortable, who have been around the block and been engaged in the community in past, cohorts will start sharing as well.
