The Healing of Disabilities
When you were in the more evangelical carasmatic spaces, my guesses, there was talk about healing. How did you come to understand the idea of healing? I don't think it should mean taking away whatever it is that's causing someone to suffer, because quite often that's just not possible. But i think rather it's trying to think of ways that the church can change in order to welcome person and make whatever is troubling them a bit less disabling. People often talk about the difference between the medical and social models of disability. So the medical model looks at it as a medical problem to be cured,. whereas the socialmodel looks at it more as a social problem.
