The case has been viewed as a critical turning point for asian american civil rights engagement, and it was a rallying cry for stronger hate crime legislation. Vincent chinn's story exposed that even though he was a member of this so called model group, he was still an outsider. The promises of protection that came with attempted assimilation into white society was false. And i think that that is so perfectly put that like it wit supremacy doesn't care.
