The Ascetic Tradition and the World Loving Tradition

In the New Testament, you have the parable of the three talents. That is a parable of Jesus, detailed in two places in the Bible. This is about a father giving to his children some amount of wealth and asking them to do something with it. And there are lots of parables like that. I don't want to come across as saying that Jesus was a salesman and he would approve of Donald Trump or something. But no, but he's, as I said before, he's in a commercial society. The images he draws on, they're always pointing up. They're always pointing to heaven.
