Is HQL Paying More Royalty?
Sitej Gajarya: HQL made the second highest royalty payments in absolute terms for three years beginning 2019. He says Indian arms of foreign MNCs do not pay unjustifiably high royalties, vis-a-vis their peers in other countries. As part of the liberalization of the Indian economy, which began in 1991 until the year 2010, government of India permitted royalties to be paid by Indian companies to foreign companies regardless of whether they were related parties or not.
