Julia King is an engineer whose fascination with metals took her from academia to the aerospace and marine industries. Her report, The King Review, published in 2008 made waves for its assertion that it was entirely possible for the UK to decarbonise road transport within 25 years. She says there's something brilliant about loading a big lump of metal into a machine and watching it go bang. And hearing what the UK needs to do if we're going to adapt to climate change and become a science superpower.
