i got to know i shallby in high school, and then, after college, did a series of interviews with him. I think he was enormously in influential in terms of explaining what this sort of sub genre is called narrative history. E was interested in character, primarily character development. He was interested in plot. And so these are things that were kind of rubbed off on mes ike, oh, the stuff of history can be, you know, can be literature, at least can aspire to be literature.
