The Literacy Hypothesis
The literacy hypothesis is based on the idea that our senses are profoundly altered by entrainment of the eyes to files of printed letters. Critics argue that the literacy hypothesis was overblown, too general, too reductive, too deterministic. David olson is a professor of psychology at the ontario institute for studies in education and the organizer of the colloquium on which this idea series is based.
