Is There a Bias Towards the Near, Towards the Present?

This isn't meant to be a kind of monument to the greatest philosophers who ever lived. I am very bious towards the present or the recent past, because this is the world we live in. Inevitably, more recent philosophy is more relevant to me now and to the reader now. And i think there are some key thinkers whose names crop up often, but it's a good idea to have an idea of what they think. So to read this as a pantheon of philosophers would be wrong....
