The Barren's Plan to Marry the Merry Widow
De Chasse Young's best chance of becoming a respectable husband is to marry the merry widow. But that doesn't work with the Barren's plan at all, does it? So De Chasse Young marries her and they can continue their flirtations. The Count Danilo turns up on his way home from a night out looking like he has had kind of a rough night out. He wants to get some rest but feels duty calls for him to go back into action.
