The Case of Don and Denny

Don and Denny were tried in separate trials the following year, with Don attempting to argue self-defense because Alan Goldstein had a gun. The verdict was controversial because under Montana's felony murder rule, the jury had been required to find Denny guilty of murder if they'd found him guilty of kidnapping.
