The Importance of Commodities in Stock Exchanges
Trading commodities seems to lead to the evolution of financial exchanges. The bones of financial speculation and financial instruments is often found in very, very material things. And so you can kind of trace a genealogy of commodity markets and the associated practices and legalities and contracts. That's the word I'm looking for. Right back to the Antibelom America, the slave trade, the import of cotton to liveable and so forth.
