Free Choice Presupposes Deliberation
If you choose something, we deliberate first of all about what to do. Free choice presupposes an act of reason and the mind that deliberates things. If we don't think we know what we are doing, if our mind does not engage, if we don't have rational deliberation, we don't believe it is really our choice. So, planning ahead and deciding in advance did happen. And that is good because only that makes something a free choice.
