Phage therapy has been around for a century or more, but there have been very few clinical trials conducted. In the UK and the US, phages are really a treatment of last resort when doctors have nothing else to throw at their bacterial infection. One country that is living in the future in this regard is Georgia. They have one of the world's oldest and most established institutes of phage research. It's been there for 100 years, and they treat more than 500 international patients a year.
