A recent leak of classified documents highlights the challenges this poses for security agencies. The suspected leaker is Jack Tashira, a 21-year-old IT specialist with the Massachusetts Air National Guard. According to a report submitted to Congress in 2019, there were more than 1.2 million people granted access to information classified as top secret.
