The New York School of Contemporary Poem
I think of you both as being very important contemporary poets but I would have a hard time putting you in a specific school of contemporary poetry. Eileen, you've seen many schools come and go perhaps and I think Maggie's book on the New York School does a really great job sort of painting you as a latter day New York School poet. Lydia Davis is a fellow traveler like there are just prose writers who never, all certainly wrote poems but it'ssort of like it's a relationship to literature and culture I think. But I mean, I think poetry is in such an amazing position right now.
