The Scope of Grief

The author argues that grief is triggered by the loss of some one in whom we've invested something of ourselves. He says there needs to be a certain sort of relationship between us and thea deceased individual, such that it makes sense for us to grieve their deaths. We also grieve other people with whom we don't share that level of love or attachment or intimacy or familiarity.
