Oligarchs brought with them a lot of money, and there was little questioning about where this money came from. Roman abramovitch was only 36 years old when he bought chelsea for a hundred and forty million pounds. He had amassed a multi billion dollar fortune through acquiring state assets at below market prices. The sanctions mean that the oligarch's assets haven't been permanently taken by the british government. They have just been kidnapped, so to speak. So long as the war in ukraine continues, london grad is on pause.
