There are some ideas out there of how to get rid of an asteroid. You could bomb it with nuclear weapons or send oil drillers, like armagad in style, to drill toit and and bomb it from the inside. The idea of kind of detonating a nuclear explosion near one is an idea that's discussed seriously. Because of gravity, they coun do unpredictable things. And also, if you do dedonate one of these weapons, and it does, like blow up an asteroid, come back together.

Scientists are constantly searching for asteroids that could crash into Earth. But if they find one, will they be able to do anything about it? NASA has launched a spaceship that will slam into an asteroid to find out.
