The relationship of part to part and part to the whole, the rhythm of beauty, that rhythm is the instrument of art. The object to be rendered is to be seen as one object set off against everything else in the world. This brings us to a very deep mystical realization. There is no meaning there at all. In the absolute sense, the universe and all the things in the universe are absolutely without meaning. It has to do with that waking that Dante spoke about. Now how does George describe that?
