The Swarma, Earthquakes, Are the Sign That It's Time Not to Take a Trip to the Top of the Volcano
The censers that measure the volcano year round are far away from the crater itself. The plan was to quickly out in a helicopter and put a bunch of symometers around the top of the volcano just before the eruption. It's hard to land a helicopter on an alaskan volcano at the end of winter, so it is pretty daring. They hang from the helicopter tread on their way down.
