How to Marry Correctly in the Hindu Social Order
society is further composed of smaller castes. The castes are smaller tribal village or guild groups, which tend to be focused in a particular region. There have long been some people who were totally outside of the caste system. These often took up very impure tasks that were seen as polluting. And there was controversy about how to approach these so called casts. This may have been out of principle and compassion, but also out of the danger of possibly losing these outcasts to other belief systems like buddhism or islam.
