The Witchcraft of Elizabeth Gardner Howell

Elizabeth Gardner Howell had a fevered episode after giving birth to her first child. A neighbor saw this happen and became worried that she was bewitched. Her mother, Mary Gardner, who lived very nearby, tried to comfort her daughter. She claimed to have seen Goody Garlic, her neighbor, and a black figure in her room.
