Peter Madsen's Explosive Escape
Peter Madsen tried to escape from Härstävästä prison with a homemade explosive device strapped to his waist. He threatened the psychologist he was holding hostage, and used him as a human shield in an attempt to get out of jail. A police blockade brought them to a screeching halt; they were eventually stopped by bomb disposal specialists who discovered that it was all a hoax. As part of his conviction, the Nautilus was destroyed, along with his dream of winning the Danish Space Race. The Kim Wall Memorial Fund continues to support young women in journalism.
