Is Whimsey the Intellectual Ideal?
There's nothing he can't do, right? He's alpher and omeger all the time. I seriously could listen to that for hours on end. Whats so brilliant? But actually, as an analysis of peter, whimsey, harriet, that's sort of of a piece with what you're saying. Whimsey has a slightly better sense of humour in the books than the t v adaptation shows. In earlier books, like the unpleasantness of the bologna club, which is about whimsey being a member of this old gentleman's club - just wonderful.
