In every way, Bergman contradicts the status quo and ideas of what we're supposed to admire. He teaches that self-righteousness is a major error, really a grave sin. And in dying in this way, he argues, he shows that life comes only after grieving in death. So I'm going to spend one more week on Bergman, and then I will launch into Mackenzie work.
