One thing that you don't want to do in a rising interest rate environment is get hot for bonds. You can get government bonds and corporate bonds, right? A corporation like me has wanted some money and they may pay a little bit higher than the risk free rate to attract people. So bonds are very valuable when interest rates decrease.
