The rise of SaaS has created a huge need for authorization, like there's just more people out there who are trying to implement this kind of thing. And then as you said there's an architectural trend where we're moving towards microservices and that brings with it unique challenges. The logic piece of who can do what needs to be shared across all these microservices. The data of like what roles people has something needs to be sharing across all thesemicroservices. So the main reason I'll see some places maybe have each team own their own service and implement authorization slightly differently is around core user experience.
