The Granwick Strike and the Women's Strike
The Granwick strike was at the Granwick film processing labs in dollis hill northwest london and it was a two-year strike between 1976 and 1978. The strikers were mostly female and of east african-asian heritage, led by this woman jayaben desai who was like a really charismatic and inspiring leader. This was significant event because it was the first uh dispute where the strikers were not white but still received widespread support from the labor movement.
