The Advantages and Disadvantages of Ketamine

Ketamine is amazing medication. You can go from relatively low doses where It can just induce some sedative effects To higher doses where we get a little bit heavier sedation all the way to inducing general anesthesia with it. Ketamine certainly can be opioid sparing in the different forms that we've already talked about whether it's an IV bowls at the start of a case or running as a Background infusion and depending on your relative potentities of your other anesthetics the dose of that is going to be informed by what other medications you're using.
