How to Creatively Engage an Audience With Technical Information

She teaches writers to complete their first novels and non fiction books through her fiction master class at michelrichmond dot como, let's say you've got a supertechnical topic that you need to communicate but the audience is made up of lay people. What works for you in that situation, or what have you seen work? I guess i just think in story telling terms, i love reading and watching films where i learn something about a field i know absolutely nothing about. And i like sort of the technical aspects of that.
