The Importance of Complete Neurovascular Imaging in the ED in Patients With a Primary TIA Diagnosis
The study included 111,417 patients who were discharged from the ED with a primary diagnosis of TIA and obtained brain imaging during or within two days of the initial ED encounter. The main outcome was the presence of any outpatient or ED encounter with a new primary diagnosis of a schemic stroke occurring within 90 days after the TIA ED encounter. 62.7% received both brain imaging and complete neurovascular imaging. And 37.3% received brain imaging but incomplete neurov vascular imaging.
