The Latest News From Ukraine
Russia is reporting saying it's cut off the last road into Backmoot, preventing Ukrainian troops from escaping or being reinforced. The defence ministry in Moscow said its soldiers were blocking the transfer of the Ukrainian army reinforcements to the city and the possibility of retreat for enemy units. We think that that's been reported for a while, quite how far and in what numbers we're not sure, but we think they are slowly moving through the city west of the river now.
