The Power of Love

Narcissists thrive on having total and complete control over somebody. They don't care if they're getting good reactions out of you, just want to get reaction. So even if those reactions are like fear and anger and shame, that's still good because they feel powerful and they feel like they're controlling you. And there are so many people that are narcissistic, not that only narcissists can be abusive. But I think there really is an overlap if you look at a lot of the things that narcissists do and a lot of things that are abusive behaviors, it really overlaps there.
