The Importance of Altitude Training
I grew up in Big Bear Lake at altitude. So I've always been pretty good at altitude and always responded really well to altitude training. If I could go back and do everything differently in my pro running days, I probably would have spent six months out of the year all spring just focused on 5k development. And I really think that would have helped me be more consistent in that 59 minute range over half marathon which would have made my marathon a lot better as well. That's kind of like one of those golden nuggets where I had to learn through my own experience.
