Abidin: Carism is a very emotional thing, and people are really in love with it. One of the first figures in the eighteenth century to be recognized as carismetic was somebody who's now almost entirely forgotten. Abidin: I'm fascinated by people like david for example, he made a quite compelling case for bringing carisma back as an idea which can help us understand history. And i'm also interested in the idea of whether it's still fit for those who say, 'It doesn't explain anything'
