I object to students walking out of class being condoned by other members of staff. It means they're further behind and don't get what's going on in another lesson, which increases their likelihood to behave. Apart from anything else, you just motivate really bad behaviour that way. I have a conversation, but the majority of that period should be in silence, have a conversation about what the child's done. That is a useful thing to do. But it also does actually need to be, have the sense of a sanction. The breach in relationship wasn't the breach in relationship between the child and their teacher, it was the child in their school.
