Avian Flu - What's the Difference?
This particular form of influenza is referred to as an H5N1 which also gets often called bird flu. It initially emerged in 1996 and stayed in poultry for a while. In 2005 it finally made that shift over into waterfowl. And we have really seen it explode on the scene here in North America since then.
