The Importance of Recognizing the Weaknesses in the Existing Regime
In politics, people are trying to milk as much as you can get through the strategic opportunities that are created by the existing regime. And then they're making investments that are trying to alter that regime so that their successors will work under a different set of structural conditions. Even as they're trying to change it, they still have to also work within the constraints that that structure produced. That is being able to sort of know enough about the system you're trying to changed.
