The Most Intense Persecuting of Christians in the Roman Empire
The most intense persecution of Christians did not come under Nero in the first century. It came under Diocletian and his, his junior emperor, Galerius. And again, as the faith in Jesus Christ spread around the Roman world, around the Mediterranean world, the oracles of Apollo went silent one by one. But now we're seeing certain groups commemorate those who fall in violent encounters with police by saying their names and pouring out a drink.
