The Power of Technology to Influence Decision Making
Automation bias occurs in everybody including people who are super highly trained and essentially should know better. Our brains try to do as least work as possible so it's a very efficient kind of hack on our cognition to provide us with easiest solutions at just the moment that we need them. So much of contemporary technology has kind of crept up so close to the skin that that it can kind of guide us and mold us in those particular moments so powerfully. We have to be incredibly cautious of any technology that's essentially removes our conscious choice and agency.
