Kien was taken to a military base in Arkansas called Fort Chaffey. She was 1,647 kilometers away from Min who was working for the Red Cross. In between his shifts he used the charity's network of volunteers to search for his family. On July 12th 1976 he finally found them. The family decided to move to the west coast of America and Min took a job at an electronics company.
