There's a lot of competing theories around how being outside helps your brain. The only thing that the different research groups can agree on is that being outside is good for you. "I think what was particularly surprising to me, although also a bit intuitive, was how brief an amount of time you could just go for a 10 to 15 minute walk and get this cognitive benefit," she says.
