The Discovery of My Love for India
Ishmael Merchant made a film about Indian miniature painting in the 1960s. He had never been to India, but was fascinated by its art and culture. Ishmael is of Indian descent; he went to NYU for his master's degree in business. The director now wants to make a documentary on Delhi as part of an Asia Society grant.
