The Lord Ruler's Diary

Every chapter in this book opens with an italicized like paragraph or two. These are excerpts from a log book that was originally the Lord rulers before he became the Lord ruler. So at every step of the hierarchy there are people, you know, going bad on each other. His motivation for killing the Lord ruler is not political at first. He thinks his wife might have betrayed him. They get sent to these pits where they have to like I don't know like mine magic metal and she is killed.
