The ICJ's Advisory Opinion on Climate Change
If the resolution is adopted by the UN General Assembly and the ICJ does eventually deliver the advisory opinion, how do you envision it would be used? It will provide further clarity as to what states actually have agreed to when it comes to the impacts of climate change on their citizens. We believe that an ICJ advisory opinion will assist to make it easier to talk and agree because things will be clearer from a perspective of what countries have agreed to.
