Why Are We So Surprised by the Culture War Commitments?

I think these are problems that are endemic to media across the board. I can certainly tell you that I did my best to make it not financially good for the Atlantic for them to chase me out of there. That was about, you know, people who have these crazy cultural commitments, they're a lot bigger than the commitments to journalism. There is a difference between opinion journalists having certain ethical obligations and just falling under journalistic ethics.
