The Quality of Research Evidence in FDA Decisions
As the fta makes decisions about the safety and efficacy of novel therapies, the agency relies heavily on medical and scientific evidence to support the decisions. The intensity of the heat emitted by politics and what call the twederate people who like to comment on fda decisions is inversely proportional to the quality of the evidence. "It's a really serious and difficult business that we struggle with every day, because all the evidence is not perfect," says Carfman.
