The History of the Cold War in Germany
The Cold War didn't start straight after the Second World War. There was a long buildup to it, but you could see there was tensions between the Allies. By May 1945, obviously Hitler's dead, the Russians have moved in. After the war, Germany is carved up into four sectors, each one governed by a different Allied power. But Eastern West turn out to have very different ideas about what a post-war Germany should look like.
